The Third Coast Dance Film Festival celebrates the intersection of contemporary dance and the moving image with a screening series of short dance films. Currently entering its sixth season, the Third Coast is an annual dance film festival based in Houston, TX.

The 2016/17 Third Coast Dance Film Festival screening premiered at Aurora Picture Show in Houston TX on Oct. 7, 2016. Additional screenings included the Nevada Museum of Art, Reno, NV February 9, 2017; Tuscaloosa Gateway, AL April 13, 2017; and the Kaleidoscope Arts Festival, Slippery Rock University, PA April 14, 2017.

The 2014 festival screened nineteen film shorts, including thirteen international films from Canada, Germany, Israel, Mexico, Norway, South Korea, Spain, and the UK. The program included three world, six USA, and ten Texas premieres. Screening locations included, DiverseWorks, The Nevada Museum of Art, the Earth Matters on Stage Symposium, Kaleidoscope Arts Festival, and the Central PA Festival of the Arts. The 2014 curators were Lydia Hance, Ashley Horn, Rebecca Salzar, and Rosie Trump.
