2016 Call for Films

Submissions for the 2016 festival are now CLOSED! The 2016/17 festival lineup will be announced in September, 2016.

The Third Coast Dance Film Festival celebrates the intersection of contemporary dance and the moving image with a screening series of short dance films. The Third Coast Dance Film Festival is pleased to announce that it will be accepting video dance submissions to be screened in the 2016/17 festival in Houston, TX, as well as the touring program.

Submissions may be short films in video dance, dance documentary, animation, or experimental dance technology. Films must be 12 minutes or shorter in length, though films under 10 minutes are preferred.  The Third Coast Dance Film Festival is especially interested in low budget/high impact and female driven work.

All videos must be submitted by June 25, 2016.

The 2016 curators include Rosie Trump, Lydia Hance, and guest curators.

HOW TO ENTER:
1. Fill out the entry form below by June 25, 2016.  A separate form is needed for each entry with a maximum of two entries per filmmaker.  As part of the entry form, a YouTube or Vimeo link to your film will be requested.

2. Pay the $15 entry fee.  You can submit up to two films with one payment.  Your entry will not be considered until payment is received via paypal.

*If the entry fee is cost prohibitive, please contact the festival organizer.  A limited amount of fee waivers are available for individual artists experiencing financial hardships.

-Upon acceptance to the festival, you will be required to provide a high quality downloadable digital file of your film via hightail or dropbox AND 2-3 high res JPEGS emailed to thirdcoastdancefilmfest@gmail.com. These items must be provided within one week of acceptance. Please do not send these materials until requested. By submitting to the festival, you are agreeing to work with the festival organizers to provide the film in its highest quality digital format. Notification of acceptance will be sent out by the end of  August 2016.

-All proceeds from submissions fees go towards festival production costs, and in turn we do not pay screening fees.
